The Rudd Government’s better health and hospitals policy is critical reform to improve health services for Australian families.
It's a shame Tony Abbott is still playing politics on such an important issue. When you look at Mr Abbott’s record on health it's easy to understand why he is not supporting reform.
As Health Minister in the Howard Government, Mr Abbott cut $1 billion from public hospital budgets.
Mr Abbott is out of touch and just doesn't understand the importance of improving hospitals to Australian families.

The Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Julia Gillard, today said no pay packet is safe after Mr Abbott refused yesterday to guarantee the penalty rates and overtime for millions of working Australians.
The Australian reports today that Opposition Workplace Relations spokesperson, Senator Eric Abetz, will remove penalty rates, reintroduce AWAs which stripped away basic conditions and exempt many businesses from unfair dismissal laws if the Opposition is elected.

The Leader of the Opposition has proven again today just what a straight talker he is.
While visiting a Perth Primary School today Mr Abbot re-iterated his position that he wants to wind back the Government’s stimulus, but also said he doesn’t want to cut funding to individual schools.

The Opposition’s immigration spokesman, Scott Morrison, says he will “tighten up” on the family reunion component in the annual migration program.
Mr Morrison is so ignorant of the migration program that he obviously is not aware that of the 60 300 visas available under the family stream of the migration program for 2009-10, the vast majority will go to spouses, children and parents of Australians.

New Department of Climate Change analysis of the Opposition’s climate change policy has confirmed that it will not achieve a 5% target by 2020.
The analysis shows that the Opposition policy will actually see emissions increase by 13% from 2000 levels.
The analysis is based on the experience of the Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme.
Tony Abbott said at his doorstop on 2 February: "What we are proposing today is modelled quite closely on the New South Wales Labor Government’s GGAS Scheme."
